Correct
Tax return 2004
We introduce you to the changes in this year's tax return
forms and ensure you are up to speed when your return start
to snowball from June 30.
One of the major problems in dealing with tax returns in
early July every year is knowing what is in the actual tax
return form in order keep up with the law and its constant
change - the problem lies in completing the tax return itself.
In 2002, there were various changes to the form including
Project Pool, the Baby Bonus, the Low Value Pool, and dealing
with carried forward Non-Commercial Losses among others. With
the 2003 return came changes to the ruling on deferred losses
from a partnership and how to treat an ex-PPS contractor under
the PSI rules.
What can we expect from 2004? Why not come along and ensure

Getting the BAS Correct
All accountants who provide BAS advice and assistance to
business clients, or who are employed in business and require
the expertise to effectively apply GST rules and construct
accurate BASs.
Despite the GST; PAYG and BAS regime having been in place
since 1 July 2000 many areas of misunderstanding and confusion
still exist with regard to the practicalities of interpretation
and reporting, particularly with where items go in a BAS;
the need for, and how to do,annual reconciliations where business
owners have elected to simply pay an ATO assessed quarterly
instalment, and the implications if errors are made in one
period but not located until a future period. This interactive
workshop session will examine these issues and provide an
easy solution to the challenges which are encountered.

- BAS update and specific areas such as Corrections and Annual
Reconciliation
- Impact of failure to register but still collect GST
